This is his final product. So lets see exactly how he did it step by step.. 2 Obtain four 55 gallon closed-head plastic drums. This is what will float the table. 3 Cut and assemble barrel frames 4 Cut and assemble two 2X6 seat supports into an “X” shape. Connect with four decking joists 5 Lay seat support assembly on the floor 6 Cut and assemble table-top assembly 7 Add table support legs 8 Connect table-top assembly to seat support crossmembers 9 Cut four wooden joists for table stability 10 Attach joists to seat support crossmembers 11 Cut and attach 8 wooden barrel-support beam locating brackets to ends of seat support crossmembers 12 Cut and attach 12 seat pieces 13 Add 8 sawed-in-half length-wise 2×4 pieces to seats for added support 14 Cut barrel support beams 15 Attach barrel support beams to barrel frames 16 Attach wooden locating brackets with cotter pins to barrel support beams 17 If done correctly, the completed assembly should fit into the six-foot bed of a standard pick-up truck 18 Take completed assembly to local beach area 19 Gather some awesome friends who are in the mood for an adventure to help you re-assemble your project 20 Attach barrel support beams to table assembly using the single cotter pin in each beam 21 Lift frame and place barrels into position 22 Wade the completed assembly into the water 23 Everyone climb aboard and enjoy a nice picnic out on the lake! 24 Cut these out of some left over 2X6 25 And now, when not in use, my floating picnic table also Doubles as a completely functional and nice-looking kids table on the deck!
